XAUUSD aka Gold has completed its daily closing for April 8, 2026. The market printed approximately a high of 4857 and a low of around 4699, and finally closed at 4719 with Ultra High Volume (UHV) — the volume was higher than the MA20.
This was an UPTHRUST — the market gave a fake breakout above the previous resistance of 4800 and then closed back below at 4719.
After this current UPTHRUST daily close, the market can either test demand or it can dump directly from the current level.
Important Supply Areas

- Suppose the market opens near the current area and performs a Test of Demand, then supply can come in around the 4757–4760 zone.
- In case of a breakout above 4757–4760, look for a Sign of Weakness (SOW) around 4800.
Bearish Scenario
- If the market gives a bearish breakout below 4699, then on a retest of 4699, a good short entry can be found.
Bullish Scenario
- If the market breaks above 4800, then the structure on the daily timeframe will turn bullish.
- After that, either:
- Wait for a breakout of 4857, OR
- Look for SOS (Sign of Strength) on lower timeframes and plan a long entry on the retest of 4800 breakout, keeping 4857 as resistance in mind.
And that was my XAUUSD aka Gold analysis for April 9, 2026. Please note, this is not financial advice.
TL;DR
- Upthrust confirmed (fake breakout above 4800, closed below)
- Market may test demand or dump
- 4757–4760 = supply zone
- Below 4699 > short on retest
- Above 4800 > bullish structure > look for longs
